Reserve a study room

Socializing Study Zone (First Floor)

This is the view of the main entrance of the Library. There are three couches with a table in the middle. There are bookshelves next to the couches separated by a little chimney and a TV in the center.
The lobby area across from the entrance of the library is a social zone. You can visit the Circulation Desk to borrow books, the Liblix area to check out DVD movies, and the Media Services desk to borrow laptops, cameras, tripods and other equipment. The reserve books located behind the counter at the Circulation Desk can be borrowed for two hours, but must remain in the library. The DVDs in the Liblix section can be checked out for two days at the Circulation Desk.

Woolley Study Hall (First Floor)

This is the view of the Woolley Study Hall in the lobby. There are tables all on the side of the wall with couple of students sitting on the chairs.
Located to the left after you enter the main entrance of the library, the Woolley Study Hall is intended for collaborative group study. Natural light from the windows make this a great study space!

Study Rooms (First Floor)

The table is in the middle of the room equipped with five chairs, a TV hanged on the top left wall and a white board placed on the right wall.
There are ten group study rooms on the first floor that can reserve online through our library website.

Each room includes a TV, white board, and worktable with chairs.

Quiet Study Zone (Second Floor)

This is the view of the quiet study zone area, with all the study carrels placed on the left and right side with bookshelves next to the study carrels.
The second floor of the Joseph F. Smith Library is a quiet study area. There are individual study carrels throughout the floor along with rows of books available for students. The books can be checked out at the Circulation Desk on the first floor for up to two weeks maximum.

Super Quiet Study Zone (Second Floor)

This is the view of the super quiet room where there are multiple tables with blue chairs all facing the white board. There are also two TVs hanging on the right wall.
The second floor of the Joseph F. Smith Library includes large tables to be used for individual study. The room is also equipped with a projector and two TVs. This location is a super quiet study zone except during class periods.

Computer Lab Zone (First Floor)

This is the view of the computer lab located in the 1st Floor. There are desks with computers and students sitting on the chairs looking at the screens.
The computer lab is open to BYU-–Hawaii students, faculty and staff. There are approximately 77 Dell computers with Microsoft Office software and 19 iMac computers.

Reference Study Zone (First Floor)

This area is located near the Reference Desk. There are numerous tables for group studying and also single carrels for individual study. The children's book section is located here and books may be checked out for up to two weeks at the Circulation Desk.

Group Study Station Zone (First Floor)

This is the view of the group study station in the library. There is a main table with chairs around it and a TV placed on top of the table in the center.
There are three group study stations in the whole library located only on the first floor. There is a TV equipped with an electrical outlet to connect your laptop to TV monitor.

Pacific Islands Room (First Floor)

This is the view of the Pacific Island Room in the 1st Floor. There are tables, couches, single carrels, and bookshelves in the back of the room. The main desk is at the entrance with also desk with computers available for students.
The Pacific Islands Room is located on the first floor. It is open to students and faculty, and reservations are not required. The area is a quiet zone for individual study only. Students and faculty can ask workers to find specific books in the collection, but books cannot be taken outside of the room. There are computers available to use as well as printers, scanners, maps and old newspaper articles on microfilms from the 1900's. Students and faculty can come to look at the collection of many interesting artifacts and quilts on display.
