Still having trouble?

First, ensure you are using your browser's most up-to-date version. Supported browsers include Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari. Library resources no longer support Microsoft IE and Mosaic. Other browsers, such as Opera and Vivaldi, may or may not work.

All library resources require you to authenticate or log in with your BYUH username and password. The screen should look like this,

Screenshot showing BYUH's login page

if the screen looks different than the above, there could be a problem.

Your authentication does get "stale" after a few hours and you may need to log in (authenticate) again. Close the tab and re-open the resource to re-authenticate with your BYUH credentials.

Note
Some resources ask you to create a secondary personal account. However, this is not the first screen you should see.

Still having trouble?

Save your work in any other open tabs, close the entire browser, and restart the browser. If you are still having trouble, you may need to clear the cache on your browser. See the instructions below.

Instructions:

    • On your computer, open Chrome.
    • Either press your Ctrl+Shift+Del keys simultaneously or look for the three dots symbol at the top right.
    • You will see Clear Browsing Data when you open the three dots symbol and click on it.
    • At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All Time.
    • Check the boxes next to Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files.
      • Note: If you see something about a connection refused by CAS, check the box before Passwords and other sign-in data in the advanced settings tab. Doing this will log you out of any application you have logged into using Chrome.
    • Click Clear data. This may take a while if you have yet to do this recently.
    • Close the browser.
    • Restart the browser and try the link again.
    • On your computer, open Firefox.
    • Click on the menu button at the top right of the browser, and select Settings.
    • Select the Privacy & Security panel and scroll down to the Cookies and Site Data section.
    • Click on the Clear Data button.
    • Check the box before Cookies and Site Data, and also Cached Web Content. In default settings, these are already checked.
    • Press the Clear button.
      • Note: If you see something about a connection refused by CAS, you also need to check the Active Logins box in the Privacy & Security settings History section. You can find this option by clicking on the Click History button.
    • Click Clear Now. Doing this may sign you out of the website and remove offline web content.
    • Close the browser.
    • Restart the browser and try the link again.
    • On your computer, open Safari.
    • Select Preferences from the Safari menu.
    • Go to the Privacy tab.
    • Click the Manage Website Data button. It may take a while to load if you have not done this recently. This may log you out of any application you have logged into Safari.
    • Click Remove All.
    • Click Done.
    • Quit Safari.
    • Reopen the browser and try the link again.
    • If you are using a mobile device, use Google or Bing to search for keywords.
    • Clear cache <name of your device>
    • Look for reputable instructions that are specific to your device (Samsung, LG, iPhone, iPad, etc.) and follow the instructions.
  • Copy the link and paste it into a new tab instead of clicking on it. This appears to be an issue more often with Apple products.
