Elton M. Zackious, 42, of Makawao, Maui will be remembered in services tomorrow. He was killed when his vehicle collided head-on with another on Hana Highway Sunday Apr 27, 1997. He was a maintenance worker at Puamana Condominium Complex. Born in Majuro, Marshall Islands, he is survived by children’s mother Cathy-Ann Bosque; parents Enos and Neia B. Tibnol; children Gomez E., Gregory R. and Guy F.; sister Nenia Netwan; two sisters; and nine brothers. Dolores J.K.K. Zakimi, 67, of Kaneohe died April 12, 1997. Born in Honolulu, she is survived by husband Raymond Y.; son Kenneth A. Carvalho; daughters Verna Mae L. Ho, Rose Mary K. Iyoki, D.J. Raymond Y. Zakimi,60, of Kaneohe, a meat department manager with Star Market, died Dec. 7, 1997 in Kaneohe. Born in Honolulu, he is survived by daughters Teri-Ann Chong, Rose K. Iyoki, Verna M.L. Ho, Luana M. Kuyo, Peahi P.  Spencer and Cora M. Billianor; son Kenneth A. Rodney M. Zakimi, 68, of Kaneohe, a retired body and fender repairman for Sumida’s Body Shop, died last Monday Dec 1, 1997 in Castle Hospital. He was born in Wailea, South Hilo, he is survived by wife Doris S.; son Zayne K.; daughter Zayna Y. Victoriano Zampaga, 86, of Waipahu, a retired practical nurse at Queen’s Hospital, died March 12, 1997 in St. Francis-West Hospital. Born in Luna, La Union, the Philippines, he is survived by wife Helen; son Stephen V.; daughter Stephanie L.; hanai daughter Susan Hore; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Jack K.S. and Doris S.L. Zane, both 76, of Kaneohe will be remembered  in services Tuesday. They were killed in a head-on crash on Kamehameha Highway near Punaluu on May 24, 1997. Born in Honolulu, Jack Zane was a retired planner estimator at sub-base in Pearl Harbor. He is survived by sons Nathan and Walden; brothers Benjamin, Richard and Walter; sisters Evelyn Garcia, Pauline Zane and Alyce Gantt; and two grandchildren. Also born in Honolulu, Doris was a former dietician’s aide at Castle Medical Center. She is also survived by brothers Eddie and Albert Lum; and sisters Helen Huang and Margaret Ohara. Services: 6 p.m. Tuesday at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary. Call after 5 p.m. Burial: 9 a.m. Thursday at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery.

 

Margaret N.C. Zane, 70, of Honolulu, a retired personnel clerk, died Nov.  26, 1997 in Honolulu. Born on Kauai, she is survived by husband David; sons Harvey and Darrell; brothers William and Walter Chang; and sisters Laura Lum and Shirley Chock. Private services.       [SB 11/12/1997]

 

Frank F. Zeffiro Jr., of Lihue, formerly of Torrington, Conn. died last Friday Oct 3, 1997 in Queen’s Hospital. He owned his own construction company and was also Public Works Director in Winsted, Conn. On Kauai he was manager of Sunset Kalihi Condominium, a purchasing agent for Lihue Plantation, operations manager of Kauai Bulk Sugar Storage and manager of Kauai branch of PSD. He also worked for Garden Isle Publishing Co. He is survived by wife Dorothy; sons Frank F. III and William E.; daughter Winona L.; brothers Aldo and Dr. Ronald; and two grandchildren. Walter Zenger Jr., 77, of Kihei, Maui, a men’s clothing salesman, died Thursday Jun 5, 1997 in Maui Memorial Hospital. Born in Johnson City, N.Y., he is survived by wife Patricia; daughter Susan; and three grandchildren. Graveside services: 1 p.m. Monday at Makawao Veterans Cemetery.

 

Karl J. Zeuch Jr., 69, of Leilani Estates, a retired communications specialist with the federal government, died yesterday Oct 30, 1997 at home. He was also a World War II veteran and he served on the board of directors for Lealani Estate Association. Born in Baltimore, he is survived by wife Elizabeth G.; sons Karl C., Michael A. and Richard L.; stepsons Michael, Douglas and Daniel O. Craig; daughter Lisa M. Raab; stepdaughters Theresa Laymon, Patricia Bator and Elizabeth Factor; sister Catherine Fox; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. John D. Ziats Jr., 84, of Kailua-Kona died Tuesday May 27, 1997 in Keauhou Rehabilitation Healthcare Center. He was known as John’s Famous Stews in Indianapolis. Born in Pennsylvania, he is survived by wife Geraldine; son John M.; daughters Linda J. Hodgin, Carolyn Hartfield, Shirley A. Fratangelo-Ziats and Michelle L.
