George W. Zacharisen, 96, of Kailua-Kona, a retired electrical engineer, died Tuesday July 2, 1996  in the Hillhaven Healthcare Center. He is survived by wife Gladys I.; sons Wilbur S. and George C.; daughter Shirley I. Fernandez; brother Harry; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Ethel  K. Zakahi of McCully, a retired Edwards  Enterprises binder, died  Sunday, Feb. 4, 1996 in Kuakini Hospital.  Zakahi, 82, was born in Kohala, Hawaii.  She is survived by son Stanley  K.; and  two grandchildren.    [SB 10/02/1996]

 

Lynn S. Zakimi of Honalulu died Saturday Jan 13, 1996 at home. Zakimi, 69 was born in Honolulu. She is survived  by husband Saiji; daughters Audrey ,Kelly and Lily Simpson; sons. Henrietta H. "Carrie" Zane, 72, of Honolulu, a retired Arizona Memorial cashier, died Oct. 22, 1996. She is survived by husband Jake; sons Baltazar P. Garces Jr. and James Zane; daughters Caroline Tateyama, Bernadette Kaai, Belinda Ramos, Mary Farrara, Cindy Saffery and Patricia Tancavo; brothers Joseph and Juan Halbuna, Art Tamburi, Magua Aguilar and Vincent Angelias; sisters Connie Walters, Laurie Baker, Philomena Angelias, Julia Omilda, Elizabeth Tooru, Zelinda Luna, Violet Willis, Marie Pacheco, Sarah Davis and Diane Shaw; 20 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Katherine Y. Zane, 88, of Honolulu, owner of Zane’s Apartment Hotel, died Nov. 30 , 1996in Honolulu. Born in Honolulu, she is survived by son Frederick Z.; daughters Evelyn Z. “Eva” Chong and Muriel Z. Jones; sisters Molly Russell, Irene Young and Nancy Y. Ching; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Episcopal Church, 720 N. Robert Y.C. "Sonny" Zane, 59, of Honolulu, a retired Liberty Bank assistant vice president who worked part-time as an Aloha Airlines service representative, died July 1, 1996  in Straub Hospital. He is survived by wife Veronica Y.L.; and sisters Muriel K.L. Zane Wong and Viola Z. Fountain. Service: 9:45 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Howard M. Zeidler, 76, of Kaneohe, a retired research engineer who worked for Hewlett-Packard, died Sunday Oct 20, 1996  at home. He is survived by niece Pat Wilkie; and nephew Doug Archer. John K. Zell of Makawao, Maui, founder, owner and manager of several Montessori Schools in California, died March 31, 1996  at home. Zell, 51, was born in Dayton, Ohio. He is survived by wife Althea Alabab-Zell; mother Agnes; sons Aaron Zell and David Pointer; daughter Marisol Delaney; and sister Jizell Albright, Pamela Lanaro and Deborah Matthews.
