Copyright for teaching and research

Course Reserves in the Library:

Reserve Policy & Regulations:

  • Requests of materials to be put on reserve should be made at least two weeks before the semester/term starts. Materials received after start of semester will be processed as quickly as possible.
  • Allow two (2) working days, excluding weekends, for materials to be processed.
  • Limit of five (5) copies per title per class.
  • Materials to be put on reserve may be brought to the Circulation Desk on Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • All reserve materials will be returned to teachers at the end of each semester/term.
  • The Circulation Desk does not have space to store teacher materials not in use during the current semester/term.
  • The reserve form is available online and in print. Requests may be submitted either online or in person at the Circulation Desk.

Electronic Course Reserves:

The electronic course reserve system where you can submit chapters of books or articles that will go through the copyright clearance process which includes the Fair Use checklist.
